The current proposals seek to build upon Canterbury City Council vision for the site which seeks to deliver a comprehensive and high quality redevelopment to include additional community, residential, retail, health and office uses.
The master plan proposes a new supermarket, additional retail and health uses with residential above. In addition two high quality public squares are proposed, the first being Market square which could accommodate the relocated Saturday market, the second being Hanover Square which will be framed by the existing Heron Centre and proposed restaurants uses.
